East and West Arbutus County Parks

East Arbutus County Park is located on the shores of beautiful Lake Arbutus, which is host to a variety of water-based recreation including fishing, water-skiing, swimming and pleasure boating. 

The park has a 187 campsites of which 136 have electricity. Approximately 70 campsites are on the lake. There are 38 ATV campsites of which 26 are electric and just opened in 2007.  The park has showers, picnic and play areas, a shelter building, boat launch, swimming beach, hiking trails and two handicap accessible campsites.  None of the sites have water or sewer hookups, but water is available throughout the park and the park has its own dump station.

The ATV sites offer the off-road enthusiast access to hundreds of miles of ATV/street legal motorcycle trails in the County. ATV’s and street legal motorcycles are allowed direct access to the trail from their campsites. A new group of sites opened in 2007 which has 26 sites with electric.  A new shower house in this area was also opened in 2007. This is the only location ATV's are allowed to operate in the park.  A posted speed limit of 5 MPH is in effect at all times and no riding is allowed in the park during quiet hours, which run from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Campground attendants are on duty between Memorial Day and Labor Day to assist you during your stay. Law enforcement personnel patrol the park.  For more information on park hours, rules and policies, click here.

The park offers (for a nominal fee) boat rental, firewood, ice, pop machines, pay telephone service and camper storage.  Each campsite comes with one picnic table and a fire ring.  Additional picnic tables are available for a $5 service fee.

West Arbutus County Park is also located on the shores of Lake Arbutus. The park is host to 44 campsites (36 electric and 8 non-electric). The park has flush toilets, showers, a shelter building, boat launch, playground and a swimming beach. 15 of the campsites are located on the lakeshore.

Reservations can be made for camping Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend. Reservations require a 3 night minimum and are subject to a $7.00 reservation fee for each site reserved. Reservations can be made by credit card, the mail or in person. Checking the availability of desired sites is encouraged when making reservations through the mail  No refunds.

Reservations are accepted from December 1 - Labor Day for the following year.  Exceptions are made for seasonal campers (anyone staying 50 days or more in a row)  who can start making reservations the first week in November.

Wazee Lake Recreation Area

The Wazee Lake Recreation Area is Jackson County's newest and largest County Park.  The focal point of the 1300-acre recreation area is Wazee Lake.  The lake is 146 acres in size and is the clearest and deepest inland lake in Wisconsin.

Wazee Lake has become the most popular scuba diving site in the Midwest, attracting more than 1000 divers annually.  For more information on scuba diving click here  It is also host to a two-tier fishery including two species of trout, smallmouth bass, bluegills and walleye.  The lake is non-motorized to ensure protection of the pristine water quality, and to promote a "quiet" recreational experience.

The area offers 12 rustic campsites with pit toilets and water, 9 miles of hiking trail, 3 miles of surfaced bicycle trail, a large beach, picnic areas, handicap fishing pier, boat launch and several scenic vistas of the surrounding forest land. Reservations are accepted on 6 of the 12 campsites. 

Reservations can be made from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day. Reservations require a 3 night minimum and can be made by credit card, mail or in person..  Checking the availability of desired sites is encouraged when making reservations through the mail. Reservations are accepted from December 1st through Labor Day for the following year. Reservations must be made for a three night minimum and are subject to a $7.00 reservation fee for each site reserved.  No refunds.

                                          Merlin Lambert County Park


Merlin Lambert County Park is located on the shores of Potter’s Flowage, a lake well known for its excellent fishing. The lake has a healthy population of muskellunge, Wisconsin’s premiere game fish. Other species include pan fish and Largemouth Bass.

The park offers 30 rustic and wooded camp sites. Many of the sites are on the lakeshore, with direct boat access to the water. Facilities include a boat launch, picnic area, pit toilets and water.

Campsites are available on a first come-first serve basis, and a self-registration box is located at the entrance for payment of camping fees. The campground is open all year.

Crawford Hills County Park

Crawford Hills County Park is located approximately 15 miles east of the City of Black River Falls on Highway 54. The park offers the ATV and Dual Sport Motorcycle enthusiast the opportunity to access over 100 miles of  combination ATV/dual-sport motorcycle trails.

The park offers 25 rustic campsites. Facilities include water, pit toilets, a shelter building and a loading ramp for ATV’s.

Campsites are available on a first come-first serve basis, and campers are advised to arrive early to ensure a campsite on the weekends. A self-registration box is located at the park entrance for payment of park fees. The park is open all year.
