The Jackson County Sheriff's Office provides all law enforcement services to Jackson County including snowmobile/ATV and watercraft patrol and enforcement within Jackson County.

Jackson County Sheriff's Office operates the Jackson County Jail holding pre-trial, sentenced and work release inmates.  Visitation is allowed for people who are placed on the visitation list by inmates.  The visitation schedule is Wednesday between the hours of 7:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m., Saturday and Sunday between the hours of 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.

Jackson County Sheriff's Office operates the Jackson County Emergency Services Communication Center which dispatches all Jackson County Emergency services i.e. fire, EMS and law enforcement.  The emergency number for all services is 911.  Law enforcement Non-emergency services may be obtained by calling 284-5357.  Administrative calls should be directed to 284-9009.

The Jackson County Sheriff's Office serves Civil Process throughout Jackson County.  Three copies of the papers to be served are required.  The charges for service is as follows:

Copies of accident reports and other public information reports can be obtained Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., excluding holidays.

Fingerprinting for employment security clearance will be done for a fee of $5.00.  Appointments may be scheduled by calling the administrative number listed above, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  You must supply your own fingerprint card.

Jackson County Sheriff's Office provides D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) to all of the Jackson County school districts for both elementary and middle school.  Jackson County also provides a Law Enforcement Liaison to the school districts of Alma Center/Humbird/Merrillan, and Melrose/Mindoro.

Jackson County Sheriff's Office also provides Community Oriented Policing (COPS) to the Villages of Hixton, Alma Center and Taylor along with the Townships of City Point, Garfield, Komesky, Manchester, Millston, Bear Bluff and Knapp 

Jackson County Sheriff's Office does assist in organizing Neighborhood Watch programs and offers home security suggestions upon request to residents of Jackson County.

Jackson County Sheriff's Office will provide speakers, upon request, in regards to law enforcement related subjects to service clubs, businesses, men/women's groups, and other organizations.
