The Treasurer's office consists of the
County Treasurer, and a Deputy Treasurer.
The Jackson County Treasurer's Office is responsible for
receiving and depositing funds from all County
departments, investing County monies, and keeping
account of all money transactions. This office is
responsible for the posting of all the municipal tax
collections and doing the tax settlements for each
municipality. We collect all the postponed or
delinquent taxes, and when the taxes become delinquent,
we start the tax deed process to eventually acquire the
property. We are also
responsible for keeping the lottery credit file updated.
The way you qualify for the lottery credit is to own and
live in your residence as of January 1, 2009. If
you qualify and need to sign an application form you may
click on the lottery credit application link below and
print the form to fill out and return to our office.
When we receive it, we will enter into the computer and
you will receive the credit on your 2009 tax bill in
December. If you still
own property in Jackson County and have moved, please
inform our office of your new address.
